Oscar-Winner Natalie Portman Talks Pregnancy

She won the top honor at last night?s Academy Awards, and Natalie Portman was glowing for more reasons than one.

After nabbing the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in ?Black Swan,? the 29-year-old beauty spoke of her pregnancy while telling reporters, ?One of the most exciting things about being pregnant is that I'm accepting the complete unknown. It's a complete mystery and miracle. It's really just accepting that I have no idea, which is what all of us live every day.?

The actress added that being pregnant reminded her "where your meaning is, what is actually important in the midst a lot of shiny stuff that is more superficial."

Natalie also mentioned that her unborn child morphed into a ?little dancer? during the ceremony.

"I don't remember anything that happened. But the baby was definitely kicking a lot during the song portion of the show."

Portman is engaged to 33-year-old choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Attend Oscar Party Arm In Arm

The teen stars got cozy at annual Vanity Fair Academy Awards bash.

While they've never spoken publicly about dating one another, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez proudly had their relationship on display when they hit up the famous Vanity Fair Oscar party right after the 83rd Academy Awards telecast wrapped.

The pair didn't do press on the red carpet, but they looked relaxed as they posed together for pictures. Bieber's arm was around Gomez's waist as they smiled for photos. She was wearing a red Grecian-style gown. Bieber was in an all-black tuxedo with a red pocket square, matching his date for the night. They took photos as a pair, but also individually. Inside the party, Bieber and Gomez posed for pictures with fellow teen star Hailee Steinfeld, held hands and looked at each other's phones while they texted inside the fete.

The glamorous party was attended by some of Hollywood's biggest names, including Gwyneth Paltrow, besties Taylor Swift and Emma Stone, couples like Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, as well as Oscar winner Natalie Portman and her beau, Benjamin Millepied. Among the other A-listers there were Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, 50 Cent, Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Williams and Jennifer Hudson, to name a few.

"Good luck to my friend Hailee Steinfeld tonight on the #oscars. young people going for theirs! also want Christian Bale to win. #TheFighter," Bieber tweeted early on Sunday, before adding this message about his fame: "im never gonna change ... i will always remember ... i will always be that kid from Stratford ... I will always be grateful."

For her part, Gomez simply tweeted, "Vanity Fair fun!" She included a photo of herself with Bieber, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, and his date.

Randy Newman nabs Best Original Song for 'We Belong Together' from 'Toy Story 3.'

Sunday night (February 27) marked the 83rd annual Academy Awards, but there were some moments when the ceremony was more reminiscent of a Grammy stage.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who has gone from Oscar-winning actress to singing awards-show mainstay — having performed "Forget You" alongside Cee Lo Green and puppets at the Grammys — was one of the featured performers in the Best Original Song category.

Paltrow, who joked to MTV News on the red carpet that she'd calmed her pre-Oscar nerves with a beer, called the ceremony "so, like, freaking serious" as compared to her previous stints on both the Grammys and the Country Music Awards.

After being introduced by Jennifer Hudson, a calmer Paltrow (who Hudson described as "a singing sensation and country music's new star") donning a sleek, off-the-shoulder nude and bejeweled gown, sang some of "Coming Home" for the Kodak Theater and millions of Oscar viewers around the globe.

With a starry stage set-up behind her, Paltrow crooned the chorus, "After all of my running/ I'm finally coming home/ The world tried to break me/ I found a road to take me home."

But Paltrow wasn't the only familiar face to appear as a performer during the ceremony. Fellow singer/actress Mandy Moore, wearing a flowing blue gown, sang the nominated "I See the Light" from her hit animated film "Tangled" alongside her co-star Zachary Levi, with Alan Menken accompanying them on piano.

Later in the telecast, Florence Welch, frontwoman for 2010 breakout act Florence and the Machine, helped Oscar winner A.R. Rahman perform "If I Rise" from "127 Hours" while images from the Best Picture nominee appeared in the background.

Welch, who wore a striking burnt-sienna gown, showcased her beautiful, moody voice as she stepped in for Dido (who co-wrote the song, as well as sang on the film's original track).

However, those were the only moments those songs and their performers had any Oscar glory on Sunday, as perennial nominee Randy Newman walked away the winner in the Best Original Song category.

Newman, who had performed "We Belong Together" from "Toy Story 3" at the piano on the Oscar stage, won his second career Academy Award, besting the songs from "Country Strong," "Tangled" and "127 Hours."

Anne Hathaway Sings, James Franco Makes Charlie Sheen Joke During Oscars

Hathaway belts out comical tune ribbing Hugh Jackman before Franco takes jab at Sheen.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: AMPAS/ ABC

The Oscars broadcast went nearly one hour before anyone cracked a Charlie Sheen joke. It was James Franco who did the honors, but not before his fellow co-host, Anne Hathaway got the chance to poke fun at another well-known actor. Hathaway took to the stage solo clad in a tuxedo and belted out a tune to the melody of "On My Own" from "Les Miserables," a little jab at Hugh Jackman who she apparently wanted to do a duet with during the broadcast.

"There's a tradition of singing at the Oscars," she mused to the crowd. "One that I was lucky enough to take part in two years ago. And this year I wanted to do a duet again with a special guest, but he bailed on me at the last minute and I couldn't do it. But I'm not a quitter, so this is the best I could do under the circumstances."

She then got up and dazzled the crowd with her killer vocal abilities, singing these biting lines to one particular former Oscars host: "On my own/ 'Cause someone's a huge jackass/ I won't say who/ Thought Australians were our allies/ It turns out Down Under's kinda shady/ Not you, Nicole, or not any other Aussie but just one/ Who shall not be named," as the cameras panned to Hugh Jackman, who had performed with Hathaway at the 2009 Academy Awards during a celeb-filled musical number.

"He stuck his fake retractable claws/ Into my heart," she continued. "When he left me on my own."

But the bit didn't end there, as Franco walked onstage dressed in drag as Marilyn Monroe. "You got to wear a tuxedo," he joked to Hathaway. "So I wore this. Weird part is I just got a text message from Charlie Sheen." The two then played the joke off, welcoming to the stage Russell Brand and Helen Mirren, who presented the Best Foreign Language Film prize to "In a Better World" (Denmark).

Jeremy Renner Talks 'Avengers' At Oscars

'It's tremendous,' Best Actor nominee says of the highly secretive script.
By By Rick Marshall, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

With "The Avengers" hitting theaters in 2012, all eyes are on Marvel's heroes as we get closer to the day when Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and a host of other comic book characters (and the actors who play them) will appear together on the same screen.

One of the superheroes who won't be debuting in his own solo movie is Clint Barton, the expert archer known as Hawkeye. Played by "Hurt Locker" actor Jeremy Renner, Hawkeye will likely make his official debut in "The Avengers" — though recent rumors have pegged him for a cameo in "Thor."

MTV News caught up with Renner on the red carpet at this year's Academy Awards and pressed him for details about his debut as the bow-wielding marksman.

"Yes, I have [read the 'Avengers' script]," Renner said. "It's tremendous. I can't tell you anything about it."

Calling the film a "massive undertaking," Renner praised the ambition of "Avengers" director Joss Whedon, who's tasked with putting all of Marvel's biggest stars in the same film and making sure there's enough spotlight to go around.

"He [will need to] pull all of those characters off and have it make sense," the actor said.

Little is known about the plot of "Avengers" at this point, other than that it will bring together a long list of high-profile actors and the larger-than-life characters they play in Marvel's movie universe. During last year's Comic-Con in San Diego, Marvel unveiled the core "Avengers" cast of Renner, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Clark Gregg (S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson).

In order to prepare for the role, Renner said archery lessons are indeed on his to-do list — though he has yet to see the costume he'll don as Hawkeye.

As for that rumor about Hawkeye making a cameo in "Thor," Renner would neither confirm nor deny the possibility of fans getting an early peek at his take on the Avengers' marksman.

"I might [have a cameo in 'Thor']," he teased. "Go see it. Check it out."

Juvenile Arrested for Marijuana Possession (Boombox Music)

No stranger to run-ins with the law, rapper Juvenile was arrested Saturday in
Louisiana for marijuana possession as well as driving with a suspended
license.

The 'Beast Mode' creator, born Terius Gray, was pulled over at about 10:55PM
late Saturday after Sterlington Police Sgt. Jacob Greer clocked him driving 75
mph in a 65 mph zone. According to Sgt. Greer, Juvenile passed in the right
lane as well, which is illegal in the state of Louisiana.

The officer went on to explain that when he appraoched the rapper's vehicle,
he smelled the distinct odor of marijuana. When asked if Juvenile had the
substance in his possession, Sgt. Greer said he handed over a small bag of the
drug.

"He was very courteous and respectful as he could be. He asked me if I
recognized him, and I said 'No. Now if you were George Strait I'll probably
have recognized you,'" Greer said.

Oscars Auto-Tune 'Twilight,' 'Harry Potter' And 'Social Network'

'Toy Story 3' also included in hilarious musical segment.
By Gil Kaufman

Sunday night's Oscar hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway joked early and often about how they were brought in to make the 83rd edition of the movie awards program young and hip. And while their enthusiasm was infectious and their timing spot-on, it was a segment they didn't appear in halfway through the show that dragged the sometimes-tired movie/music bits kicking and screaming into the present.

OK, maybe into 2009, but it's a start. "As we all know, this was the year of the movie musical," Franco proudly proclaimed, as Hathaway stood beside him in a glittering silvery gown, looking puzzled.

"I'm sorry, did I miss something? I thought there were hardly any musicals this year," she responded. "Guess again, Anne," Franco smirked, setting up one of the night's funniest moments.

What followed was an unexpectedly silly musical tribute that began with the instant classic "Tiny Ball of Light," credited to Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." Taking a pivotal scene in the woods where the longtime pals reunite, Ron and Hermione are drawn into a finger-snapping R&B slow jam with a thumping beat and over-the-top Auto-Tune effects that would make T-Pain proud.

"This ball of light, this tiny ball of light floated through my chest, floated through me right here," Weasley stutter-sings as an incredulous Granger croons, "What exactly did it say, may I ask?" The sure-to-be-viral classic artfully reimagined the dialogue from the film and was right out of the "Saturday Night Live" school of digital-short musical parodies.

That number was followed by another Auto-Tune-ification, this time of Woody and the gang from "Toy Story 3," via the funktastic "We're Still Here." "Through every yard sale, we're still here, through every spring cleaning, we're all still here," Woody sings in his best club-crawling tone.

The capper, though, was courtesy of Mr. SNL Digital Short himself, Justin Timberlake. Taking the pivotal scene in "The Social Network" where Timberlake's Sean Parker lays out his manic vision for Facebook to the site's founders, the dialogue was transformed into a Euro disco banger, opening with his digitally skipped pitch, "Facebook, Facebook, Faa-aaa-aaa-cebook."

The song, "Fishing for Facebook," worked the infamous "14 trout" speech into the kind of slick club come-on that might easily have been a B-side to one of Timberlake's own albums. The piece ended with Timberlake dropping his signature line, "A million dollars isn't cool. You know what's cool?" over a driving beat, then pausing a moment before adding: "a billion dollars."

Just to make sure they snagged the kids, the musical tribute ended with "He Doesn't Own a Shirt" a pretend slow jam from "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," in which a jealous Edward Cullen sneers, "Doesn't he own a shirt?" at romantic (and, yes, shirtless and ripped) rival Jacob Black. In the background, a group of female singers explained, "He's too sexy for a shirt" and "She's so glad he doesn't have a shirt" as Bella Swan embraced her werewolf pal.

'Sex And The City 2,' 'Last Airbender' Score Razzies

By Shawn Adler

Winning an award on Oscar weekend is generally a time for celebration, but for M. Night Shyamalan and the ladies of "Sex and the City 2," Saturday night's near clean sweep at the 31st Annual Golden Raspberries was likely to inspire anything but. What a twist.

Created to (dis)honor the very worst in cinema during the previous year, the Razzies bestowed their top prize to Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender." Based on the anime series "Avatar," "Airbender" took home five trophies, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D and Worst Supporting Actor for co-star Jackson Rathbone.

The wins were a breakthrough of sorts for the director once thought to be among the very best of his generation, as Shyamalan's previous film, "The Happening," was nominated for, but failed to win, Worst Picture and Worst Director at the 2008 Razzies.

"Sex and the City 2" managed to score three gold spray-painted statuettes, including wins for Worst Sequel, Worst Screen Ensemble and Worst Actress, which was presented to all four of the flick's stars — Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Also winning at the satirical awards show were Aston Kutcher, who took home the Worst Actor prize for his performances in both "Killers" and "Valentine's Day," and Jessica Alba, winner of Worst Supporting Actress for her turns in four films — "The Killer Inside Me," "Little Fockers," "Machete" and "Valentine's Day."

James Franco And Anne Hathaway Dive Into 'Inception' For Oscar Hosting Tips

Academy Awards opener features Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin in 'Inception'-themed tribute to year's best.
By Gil Kaufman

Anne Hathaway and James Franco host the 2011 Academy Awards
Photo: Getty Images

It's become a time-honored Oscar opening bit: inserting the show's host into the year's Best Picture nominees. Only this time, it was hosts, plural, and for only the second time since 1986, they were not stand-up comedians whose forte is getting easy laughs.

After more than a month of speculation about how James Franco and Anne Hathaway would open Sunday night's 83rd annual Academy Awards ceremony, the tension was broken with a quick-cut montage of iconic images from this year's 10 Best Picture nominees, followed by Franco, 32, and Hathaway, 28, being digitally inserted into one of the year's most mind-twisting nominees, "Inception."

Check out photos of the 2011 Academy Awards show.

Star Leonardo DiCaprio attempted to explain how the whole dream-hopping worked to the couple, with Hathaway saying, "So, we're going to go into Alec Baldwin's dreams and get some hosting tips," as an incredulous Franco huffed, "You're buying this. ... I'm not going anywhere until you can prove you can take us into people's dreams."

As the streets of Paris exploded around them, Franco still wouldn't buy in, using his best tough-guy stance and pressing DiCaprio, "Gimme some proof ... one shred of proof, Leo ... we're waitin'." The pair then ended up on a plane with DiCaprio and Baldwin, with the "30 Rock" star and 2010 Oscar co-host slugging down a juice box of Ambien to calm his nerves, but passing out before giving Hathaway the secret to hosting the show.

They were next transported to a courtroom, where Hathaway took issue with Franco's use of a driedel as his talisman to check whether he was in a dream (if you haven't seen "Inception," then you were just slightly more confused than those of us who had). They ended up in a yelling match with "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, telling the socially awkward billionaire that his brusque dismissal of their request for help had just cost him a few Facebook friends. "And tell the Winklevosses to stop giving me the stink eye," Franco added.

The "Inception" elevator took them to the sweaty gym in "The Fighter," where Hathaway donned her best round the way Boston girl accent to chat up Mark Wahlberg's Micky Ward about who is a bigger junkbag. After knocking Franco out, she hopped on a horse to face off against "True Grit" star Jeff Bridges, with Franco snuggling up behind her in a bearskin coat and Hathaway sporting not one but two eye patches.

The search continued in "The King's Speech," where they worked period costumes. But those were nothing compared to the ones they squeezed into for the "Black Swan" bit, where Franco was shoehorned into a skintight white leotard and his co-host a Thanksgiving turkey-inspired getup. "The dance of the brown duck," Hathaway intoned as she spun wildly, shedding feathers and quacking her way through a routine that horrified star Natalie Portman.

They finally found Baldwin again, who played some mind games with them before they jumped into the DeLorean time machine from "Back to the Future" and jetted into the present, winding up on the stage in their awards-show finest. Franco, holding a cell phone to record his moment in the sun, wore a classic tuxedo, while Hathaway emerged in an elegant white floor-length gown with beaded accents.

"Oh my gosh, you're all real," she marveled. "This is actually happening!" Lowering the collective age of presenters by 55 years from last year, first-time hosts Franco and Hathaway — the latter the youngest host in history and one of the only women to ever have the honor — quickly dispensed with any questions about why they were tapped for the gig. "Anne, I must say you look so beautiful and so hip," said Franco in his signature smiling deadpan manner. "Thank you, James," she replied. "You look very appealing to a younger demographic as well."

Both had promised they would not follow in the footsteps of comedian Ricky Gervais, who did a bombing run at the Golden Globes, strafing most of Hollywood with his acerbic wit. Instead they ended up making fun of themselves. Franco said it was an exciting night for both hosts since they were both nominated, but Hathaway quickly reminded him that unlike his Best Actor nod for "127 Hours," she was not noticed for her work in the romantic dramedy "Love and Other Drugs."

"You know, it used to be you get naked, you get nominated," she complained. "Not anymore, not anymore." She then explained to Franco what an honor it is to be nominated and how if he won, everyone would refer to him as "Academy Award winner James Franco." He had to think about that. "What do you mean everyone?" he said, confused after asking if the little golden man came with a cash prize as well. "Like even my mom? That would be weird if my mom called me 'Academy Award winner James Franco.' I've known her a long time."

Hathaway's mom reminded her from the audience to stand up straight because, you know, three-time Oscar winner Steven Spielberg is in the house, while Franco's grandma was jacked to see "Marky Mark" Wahlberg in the crowd.

Both came off as relaxed and natural as they joked about the profusion of lesbians in this year's nominated films and quickly segued into the night's first award presentation by Tom Hanks for Best Art Direction.

Jennifer Lopez Latest Celeb To Enlist Fan Feedback On The Net

J. Lo is letting you choose ending of her 'On the Floor' video, joining growing list of stars who have also left decisions to fans.

Jennifer Lopez is set to drop her dance-tastic video for "On the Floor" in less than a week, and she's letting her fans choose how the Taj Stansberry-directed clip ends. On Thursday, Lopez visited Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show to announce that she'd be giving her fans the option to pick between two 15-to-20-second alternate endings, with the final cut airing during the March 3 "American Idol" broadcast at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

"You get to do what I do," J. Lo said during "On-Air With Ryan Seacrest." "Like, I go in there with my videos and I start editing and picking all the shots I like and the things that I like and what I feel the best kind of feeling for the record is. You guys get to do that. We picked two different ones and we weren't sure."

Lopez joins a list of stars, who have also maintained an interactive relationship with fans in order to get feedback on everything from song selection to tour set lists and promotional appearances.

Katy Perry's "E.T." Single
Back in December, Katy took to Twitter to ask fans what they thought should be the next single off her smash Teenage Dream. Shortly after, the pop star thanked fans for their suggestions, admitting that she agreed with the majority of them. Fast-forward two months as Katy selected the futuristic tune "E.T." as to be the fourth release off her sophomore effort, and adding Kanye West into the mix.

Bon Jovi's Concert Set List
When Bon Jovi teamed up with YouTube for a special concert show last year, the rockers were set on giving fans complete control. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi recorded a video message, which was appropriately uploaded onto the site, asking fans to send in their song suggestions via text or video entry. And as expected, the group performed signature hits, including "Livin' on a Prayer" and "It's My Life" during the concert event.

Janet Jackson's Tour Dates
Scheduling a tour can be difficult for busy artists, especially when there are so many cities to cover. However, that's not the case with Janet Jackson's upcoming world tour, for which she allowed fans vote on the cities where they'd most like to see her perform. The pop icon eventually selected a slew of dates based on fan submissions and they'll get to hear her perform songs from her greatest-hits album, Number Ones.

Rolling Stone Cover
It's not only stars who request fan feedback: Rolling Stone magazine is letting fans choose 1 of 16 unsigned bands to grace their coveted front cover, they announced last week. Through a tournament-style competition, fans will submit votes until the last two bands are standing. From there, the finalists will compete in an onstage battle of the bands that will determine who gets the cover and a recording contract from Atlantic Records.

Betty White's 'SNL' Facebook Campaign
As Betty White's popularity skyrocketed in recent years, so did the demand for her onscreen appearances, including admirers who wanted her to score a gig on "Saturday Night Live." After an overwhelming Facebook campaign to have the then-88-year-old actress host the late-night sketch comedy show, White finally took the "SNL" stage and gave viewers what they wanted. With the help of White, "SNL" alums like Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph, and musical guest Jay-Z, the show earned its best numbers in more than 18 months.

'Hall Pass' Leads Friday Box Office

Comedy bags $4.6 million; Nic Cage's 'Drive Angry' flops in ninth place.
By Shawn Adler

Oscar weekend is typically a time for movie insiders to recognize high-brow, dramatic fare. But no matter who takes home the statues Sunday night, it's the raunchy, hilarious team behind flicks like "There's Something About Mary" and "Kingpin" who are taking home the gold.

"Hall Pass," starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, topped all comers at the Friday-night box office with an estimated $4.6 million from 2,950 screens. If form holds, it will be the first # 1 opening for writing/directing duo Peter and Bobby Farrelly since 2000's "Me, Myself and Irene."

Not far behind in second place, Liam Neeson's "Unknown" managed to punch up nearly $3.9 million from 3,043 screens in its second week of release. Two years after dominating the February box office with "Taken," the secretly badass star should push "Unknown" past $40 million total by the end of the weekend.

While America's love affair with Neeson waxes, however, its relationship with Nicolas Cage may have waned irrevocably. New release "Drive Angry," featuring the Oscar winner turned action star's latest wackadoo performance, was good enough for only $1.6 million and ninth place. The weak opening is the latest in a string of recent flops for Cage, including "Season of the Witch" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

In third place, "Just Go With It" starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston pulled in $3.3 million. Rounding out the top five, "Gnomeo and Juliet" and "I Am Number Four" earned $3.16 million and $3.14 million, respectively.

With a new "Director's Fan Cut", out this weekend only, Justin Bieber managed to hold strong at sixth place, as his 3-D concert flick "Never Say Never" scored $2.7 million. The flick's cumulative gross should breeze past $60 million this weekend.

Among Oscar hopefuls, "The King's Speech" (eighth place) continued its impressive run. The presumptive favorite at the Academy Awards brought its total to $108 million with a $1.9 million Friday haul.

'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' Director Jon Chu Tapped For 'G.I. Joe 2'

'I still think there's a movie out there that can be done for the real 'Joe' fans,' Chu said of helming sequel.
By Shawn Adler

He's survived gunfights, and bombings, and enough doomsday machines to make James Bond blush, but action icon G.I. Joe may have finally met one affliction he couldn't counter: Bieber Fever.

"Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" director Jon Chu is going from helming a flick about a boy wonder to helming one about a toy wonder, with news that the 31-year-old has been chosen to direct "G.I. Joe 2," according to a report on Deadline.

As Paramount's first choice for the action sequel, Chu beat out rumored competitors Gary Grey and Jaume Collet-Serra.

For Chu, the chance to direct "G.I. Joe 2" is a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream, having been a fan of the character since he was a little child.

"'Joe' is something I've loved since I was a kid," Chu confessed to MTV News when word of his possible involvement first leaked. "My era was 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' 'G.I. Joe' and 'Transformers.' When 'Joe' changed their theme song from the old style 'Go Joe!' to 'Got to get tough, go Joe!' That was the era I was in. Those are the fun, glory years that I remember."

Directed by Stephen Sommers and starring, among others, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Channing Tatum, and Sienna Miller, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" was released in 2009 to over $300 million worldwide but mostly middling reviews.

While it is unclear which of the stars will return for the sequel, Chu believes there's a definite opportunity to build on the first film's successes, while possibly taking the sequel in another direction.

"I still think there's a movie out there that can be done for the real 'Joe' fans," he said, "the one we've been waiting for that hasn't been done before."

That other direction almost certainly won't include casting Justin Bieber. Asked if he could envision the pop superstar in fatigues, Chu simply laughed.

"That's hilarious," he chuckled.

Currently in its third week of release, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" has earned nearly $60 million at the domestic box office. A "Director's Fan Cut" of the film with extended footage is currently in release for an exclusive one-week run.

Anne Hathaway Will Be 'Wonderful' In 'Dark Knight Rises,' Says Aaron Eckhart

At the Independent Spirit Awards, the 'Dark Knight' villain is gracious about being left out of third film.
By Brian Warmoth, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Aaron Eckhart
Photo: Jeff Vespa/ WireImage

Director Christopher Nolan told Aaron Eckhart personally that "Dark Knight Rises" script wouldn't have a part for him. Eckhart took the news in stride, though, and the nominee for Best Male Lead at Saturday night's (February 26) Independent Spirit Awards said he expects the movie will do just fine without him — even if Nolan won't tell him what will be going down onscreen.

"I was just with Chris, and he's pretty tight-lipped about things," Eckhart told MTV News on the red carpet outside the Spirit Awards.

The man who played Harvey Dent and ushered the character into madness as Two-Face in "The Dark Knight" wouldn't admit to disappointment over not returning for the new Batman sequel. In fact, he claimed to have seen Two-Face's omission coming.

"I never intended to come back," Eckhart said. "That's Heath [Ledger]'s movie. It should live solo, and Chris is gonna go on."

Nolan's third Batman movie will include , best known in the Batman universe for her villainess alter ego Catwoman. Eckhart expressed high hopes for her.

"I think Anne Hathaway is going to be wonderful," Eckhart stated. The closest he would come to complaining about his absence from "The Dark Knight Rises" was to joke about sucker-punching Nolan after hearing that Harvey Dent wouldn't appear.

Eckhart lost in the Male Lead category to "127 Hours" star James Franco at the Spirit Awards, though judging by the gracious response he gave about the Bat-films going on without him, he seemed like he must be at ease with passing the spotlight around.

Eckhart made himself available last year, just in case Nolan had a change of heart, but now that the script is getting finished, and the big remaining casting searches seem to be limited to females, it's probably safe to consider Eckhart politely and amicably finished as a Bat-villain.

Oscars Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know!

Join us at 6 p.m. tonight live from the Academy Awards red carpet on MTVNews.com.
By Eric Ditzian

Photo: Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

All across La La Land in the hectic hours before the 83rd Academy Awards, nominees are putting the finishing touches on the scraps of paper containing their -- fingers crossed! -- acceptance speeches. Limo drivers are gassing up their rides. And somewhere inside the bowels of the Kodak Theatre, co-host James Franco (or, more likely, James Franco's assistant) is shining his shoes.

Meanwhile, you're putting the finishing touches on your Oscar ballot or making sure your Oscar party doesn't run out of Jesse Eisenburgers and King's Peach Pie. Stressful!

Soon, though, the action on Hollywood's biggest night will be under way. What can you expect when the show goes live? MTV News has got you covered. Read on for everything you need to know about this year's Academy Awards:

The Live Coverage
The first thing you need to know is that MTV News will be everywhere on Oscar night. To begin the evening, we'll be launching a red-carpet live stream at MTVNews.com from 6 to 8 p.m. ET tonight, where we'll be chatting up everyone from Natalie Portman to Christian Bale. We'll also be taking your questions via Twitter, so tweet your questions to @MTVNews using the hashtag #oscars for a chance to see your favorite celebrities fielding your own inquiries.

We'll also be running a red-carpet fashion blog on Hollywood Crush. Once the show begins, shift over to Movies Blog for a live blog about the show itself. And, of course, we'll be churning out loads of video, analyses and breakout stories across all our Web properties, so keep it locked to MTV News for the very latest updates about the show.

The Races
All week long, we've been previewing the major Oscar categories. Best Supporting Actress might be the tightest of all the top races, with Melissa Leo ("The Fighter") grappling with Hailee Steinfeld ("True Grit") and Helena Bonham Carter ("The King's Speech"). Best Supporting Actor couldn't present more of a contrast: Christian Bale ("The Fighter") long ago locked up this win. Colin Firth ("The King's Speech"), too, is a sure bet to win Best Actor, while Natalie Portman ("Black Swan") should coast to Best Actress victory (though Annette Bening ["The Kids Are All Right"] could play the spoiler). When it comes to Best Director, Tom Hooper ("The King's Speech") is a slight favorite over David Fincher ("The Social Network"), but either of these gentlemen could walk away the victor. The same likely cannot be said about Best Picture: "King's Speech" appears to have pulled away from "Social Network" and should end up the night's big winner.

The Rundown
Deadline Hollywood has published the broad outline of the telecast, giving us a general idea of how things are going to go down. Franco and co-host Anne Hathaway will begin the evening with a pre-taped video in which they appear in scenes from the Best Picture nominees.

Tom Hanks will be the first presenter, announcing both Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. Other presenters include Russell Brand, Sandra Bullock, Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman, Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey. Hilary Swank and Kathryn Bigelow will present Best Director and then, just before the clock strikes 11:30 p.m. on the East Coast, Steven Spielberg will hand out Best Picture.

So you think you have a good picture about what the Oscars are going to look like? Hopefully, but check out this TwitPic from Franco for what he simply calls "my view."

Will it be a regal evening for "The King's Speech"? Can "The Social Network" dial up Oscar gold? Don't miss MTV News' "2011 Oscars Live" at 6 p.m. tonight when we'll be chatting with your favorite Hollywood stars live from the red carpet on MTVNews.com, and stick with us all Oscar night for winners, interviews, photos and more!
