Gucci Mane Arrested For Pushing A Woman Out Of A Moving Vehicle

Rapper allegedly pushed the victim out of his car after she refused to go to a hotel with him.

Gucci Mane is in trouble with the law yet again. The Atlanta rapper was arrested Friday (April 8) and charged with a misdemeanor count of battery for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle back in January.

WSB-TV Atlanta is reporting that Gucci (born Radric Davis) was arrested while visiting his probation officer at the Georgia Department of Corrections Probation Office by the DeKalb County Fugitive Squad. MTV News obtained the incident report from the DeKalb County police, and the details are eye-opening.

On the morning of January 28, the victim, a a 36-year-old Atlanta resident, was at the South DeKalb Mall when she was approached by a male driving a white Hummer who turned out to be Gucci Mane. The victim says Gucci asked if she wanted to get breakfast and she entered the vehicle after agreeing. However, once in the vehicle, Gucci allegedly offered the victim $150 to "go to the hotel." It is when she refused and asked to be returned to the mall that the rapper allegedly leaned over to open the passenger side door and proceeded to shove her out of the car, after several tries, while the vehicle was in motion.

According to the report, the victim "had redness on her left side/back area." Although she had never met the "Lemonade" rapper before, she stated that she was familiar with his music and "recognized an 'ice cream cone' tattoo on the suspect's face."

According to Mekka Parrish of the DeKalb County Police Department, the warrant stemmed from an April 1 court date, where it was likely issued. These latest charges may lead to another jail sentence for Gucci Mane, who was released from Fulton County Jail after serving six months of a yearlong sentence for a parole violation on an aggravated assault conviction.

Although the crime he is currently charged with is a misdemeanor, Gucci will probably be charged with violating his parole again. Gucci is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail on $5,000 bond and will face a judge on Saturday.

'X-Men Origins: Deadpool' Finds Its Director: Tim Miller

This will be the visual-effects expert's full-length directing debut.

The highly anticipated (if slightly delayed and problem-plagued) "Deadpool" movie has officially been assigned a director, VFX expert Tim Miller.

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox selected Miller to helm the pic due to his extensive background in visual effects. (Miller worked on "X-Men," "X2," "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" and "Night at the Museum"). "X-Men Origins: Deadpool" will be Miller's first time directing a full-length feature film.

Although the casting announcements have not yet been made, Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed the mouthy mercenary in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," is expected to star. He recently told MTV News that he hopes the movie gets into production soon.

"Worry not," Reynolds told MTV News. "I want it to happen. I just feel like when it does happen, it has to be done the exact right way. I've been a part of it for way, way too long, and it has to be done extremely well.

"There's a lot I could say about it right now, but there are moving parts that I really want to see to fruition and I want to see them happen, so I don't want to get into and put the cart before the horse," he added. "So we'll see."

However, Reynolds was quick to indicate that the delays aren't due to any problems with the script. In fact, the screenplay by "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick is, well, perfect.

"The script is exactly where I want it to be," he said. "[The script is], tonally speaking, perfect."

Since Reynolds has said in the past that he'd only do "Deadpool" or zombie cop movie "R.I.P.D.," this announcement and forward movement by Fox — and the fact that Reynolds' co-star just dropped out of "R.I.P.D." — might help nudge the "Green Lantern" star toward officially signing on for "Deadpool."

Taylor Lautner Fist-Bumps Tom Cruise In His #5 MTV Moment

Lautner will debut the 'Abduction' trailer and chat with MTV News this Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET.
By MTV News staff

For a while, Taylor Lautner was pretending he wouldn't be able to make it to the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Of course, faithful members of Team Jacob know how that turned out: The "Twilight" star was on hand to present an exclusive "Eclipse" clip, take the stage to accept a Best Movie win for "New Moon" and take part in a ridiculous spoof with Robert Pattinson called "Bad-Ass Cops."

But in the run-up to the big show, Lautner had some fun, during an MTV promo, suggesting he might have other plans for his evening — plans that didn't make Tom Cruise very happy. As we count down the days until "MTV First: Taylor Lautner" hits the air and the Web on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:56 p.m. — and count off our favorite encounters with the young star — we hauled the promo out of our archives because: A) It still makes us laugh, and B) It's Taylor's #5 MTV moment.

In the promo, Cruise's egomaniacal alter-ego, Les Grossman, finishes ripping "Avatar" director James Cameron a new one — "I want it in 4-D! Do it," he screams — and turns to Lautner to discuss the upcoming Movie Awards.

"Les, we already talked about this, remember?" Lautner tells him. "My agents told you that weekend is my best friend's wedding."

"Understood. All cool," Les says, and brings in a schlubby fella he says will stand in for Lautner at the wedding.

Despite Taylor's skepticism, Grossman says that everything's going to work out, then offers up his fists for Tay-Tay to pound.

Don't miss "MTV First: Taylor Lautner" this Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Tune in to see Lautner debut the trailer for "Abduction," followed by a live 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Tweet questions using the hashtag #asktaylor to get in the conversation!

Uma Thurman Says Playing The Older Woman In 'Ceremony' Is 'Fun'

'I have been cast opposite a lot of really handsome, charming young men,' she laughs to MTV News.
By Kara Warner

Despite the age-old stereotype in Hollywood (pun intended) of casting much younger actresses opposite older actors, Uma Thurman is one of the few lucky leading ladies to have broken that mold — several times over, in fact.

In her new movie "Ceremony," Thurman plays the beautiful and seemingly unattainable Zoe, a playful, curious woman who is easily distracted by new things. When she gets herself involved in a brief romantic fling with the much younger Sam (played by Michael Angarano), despite the fact that she's engaged, everything comes to a head during her wedding weekend when Sam shows up unannounced to profess his love for her.

When MTV News caught up with Thurman, we asked for her thoughts on playing the older woman.

"I have been cast opposite a lot of really handsome, charming young men," laughed Thurman, who also stars opposite Robert Pattinson in the upcoming "Bel Ami." "It's nice work when you can get it. I've also worked with some of the world's most wonderful esteemed older men throughout my career, who were wonderful people to learn from and be with."

Thurman said she likes the idea of exploring outside stereotypical or popular opinion.

"I think the exploration of people relating in different generations is something that is really current," she said. "And it's fun. It's wonderful to have. I can't just speak about it romantically, but it's wonderful to know people at all different stages of life," she said, citing the fact that she's made three or four films in which her romantic interest is a younger man.

"My [12-year-old] daughter said, 'Mommy, why are you being cast with all these young men?' I said, 'Well, I'm not doing it in life,' " she recalled with a laugh. "Anyway, I don't know. I think it's cool."

Check out everything we've got on "Ceremony."
