The Foo Fighters intended to go big in 2011 and, so far, they've delivered --
at least, in terms of big anticipation, with one big announcement after
another. The latest? The Foo Fighters will join the parade of bands rolling
out special limited-edition vinyl for Record Store Day on April 16.
NME reports that the Foo Fighters' Record Store Day offering will be a new
full-length album, entitled 'Medium Rare,' which will consist entirely of
covers. Among the selections are such unexpected left-fielders as the Zombies'
'This Will Be Our Year' and Cream's 'I Feel Free.' Also included are a
surprising bunch of covers that the Fighters have been known to perform live
before -- 'Band on the Run' (Paul McCartney & Wings), 'Darling Nikki'
(Prince), 'Have a Cigar' (Pink Floyd).
